Electrical and Software Design Engineer

We're expanding our product range and are on the lookout for a dynamic and talented Electrical and Software Design Engineer to join our team.

What You'll Do:

  • Design Mastery: Create electrical schematic diagrams, panel layouts, and PLC wiring diagrams.
  • Component Guru: Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and order components.
  • Software Savvy: Develop and edit software code for PCBs and PLCs.
  • Circuit Wizard: Design electrical circuits and control panels, including wiring and cabling.
  • Customer Focused: Translate customer requirements into detailed electronics specifications.
  • Testing Pro: Prepare test procedures and ensure traceability of results.
  • Documentation Expert: Produce comprehensive documentation to support designs.
  • Team Player: Collaborate with Sales, Service, Quality, Purchasing, and Production teams to ensure timely and compliant product delivery.
  • Quality Champion: Support design and engineering

What You Bring:

  • Technical Prowess: Proficiency in electrical drawings and fault-finding.
  • Software Knowledge: Understanding of PLC, HMI, and SCADA software.
  • Network Savvy: Familiarity with industrial networks like CANBUS
  • Design Skills: Experience with Autocad or EPlan is ideal.
  • Analytical Mind: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Organisational Skills: Organised and able to manage time and workload effectively.
  • Positive Attitude: Enthusiastic with a 'Can do' attitude.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • HND/Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years experience in an Electrical/Electronic design/engineering role.
  • Experience in creating supporting manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience of working in a drawing office
  • Experience of wiring looms
  • Experience of FPGA design
  • Knowledge of product testing and QA procedures.
  • Familiarity with analogue and digital circuit design, PCB design, and layout.
  • Understanding of EMC/LVD regulations and microprocessor design.
  • Practical mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills.
  • Full UK driving licence is an advantage.
  • Legal right to work in the UK as we do not have sponsorship licence.
