What Is Antimicrobial Coating And Will It Protect Against COVID-19?
Balancing stringent infection control standards alongside excellent bedside care is a tough job, but your nurses and carers work hard to find a way to achieve it.
Although it’s a challenge to juggle, they do so with diligence, knowing that the lives of those in their care could ultimately depend on these efforts.
It’s undeniable that what we ask of our clinicians is very hard work indeed. However, the latest advancements in infection control technology will not only make these responsibilities quicker and easier, but safer and more effective, too.
Your clinicians are likely to be using an array of antibacterial sprays to keep treatment and care areas clean – but they may not be benefitting from a solution with powerful antimicrobial properties.
Surfaces that have been treated with an antimicrobial coating will protect users by creating a hygienic environment, which prevents the spread of viruses and bacteria.
The Hygenex Recoat Antimicrobial Coating System consists of two elements, a Surface Cleaner and an Antimicrobial Coating spray which are:
- Touch dry in 15 minutes, ready for use in 3 hours
- Continue to be effective for up to six months
- Proven to protect against major HCAIs including E. coli, MRSA, staph aureus and SARS-CoV-2.
With the Hygenex® Recoat Antimicrobial Coating System, keeping hard surfaces clear of SARS-CoV-2 for six months is truly possible.
Hygenex® Recoat Coating System works in two parts.
Firstly, the Hygenex® Recoat Surface Cleaner is used to clean the surface the antimicrobial coating is being applied to. It degreases and cleans the selected surface to ensure the Antimicrobial Protector adheres correctly.
Secondly, the quick-drying, water-based Hygenex® Recoat Antimicrobial Protector is applied to the same surface. Hygenex® Recoat® Antimicrobial Protector is a water based quick drying antimicrobial coating utilising silver chloride antimicrobial technology.
Once the surface is dry it is antimicrobial, creating a hygienic environment, proven to help eliminate viruses, bacterium, mould and fungi for up to 6 months, including SARS-CoV-2.
The Hygenex® Recoat Antimicrobial Coating System is versatile and simple to use.
Supplied in a handy spray bottle, Recoat can be used on almost all hard surfaces, including:
- Stainless steel
- Aluminium
- Copper
- Zinc
- Chrome
- Most plastics
- Glass
- Ceramics
- Wood
- Foil.
You can even use Recoat to treat common touchpoints in your facility - such as door handles and touch screens - which usually require near-continuous cleaning.
Each 500ml bottle will give you approximately 502 metres of antimicrobial protection, making it a truly cost-effective solution, while also benefitting from being water-based, sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Be proactive in how you protect your facility.
By empowering you to fight HCAIs and viruses in simple (yet extremely effective) ways, we’ll help you to provide exceptional standards of care with absolute confidence.
