DDC Dolphin Engineers' Vital Role In Struggle Against Coronavirus
Infection control specialist DDC Dolphin’s service engineers are playing a vital role in keeping
hospital wards and care homes open during the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
DDC Dolphin’s engineers are installing and maintaining essential sluice room equipment needed to treat human waste safely and keep hospitals free from infection.
They are installing, inspecting and servicing medical pulp macerators and bedpan washer
disinfectors across the UK. Without this equipment, hospitals wards and care homes would close.
Last year, Poole-based DDC Dolphin recruited more service engineers to meet rising demand. Now that demand is higher than ever because of the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.
DDC Dolphin’s engineers are capable of servicing a wide range of machines in hospitals and care
homes. Together, they have more than 200 years of experience working on DDC Dolphin and
competitor machines.
This helps to reduce the risk of infection by:
- ensuring that hospital and care home sluice rooms work at maximum efficiency
- reducing the number of maintenance visits – one engineer can carry out all the work needed.
DDC Dolphin’s engineers use advanced Metrix software to help them deliver world-class customer service in the most effective and efficient way – giving hospital and care home managers peace of mind and saving them time and money.
DDC Dolphin also offers an enhanced 360° Care Cover package that helps hospitals and care homes to manage maintenance and balance budgets more effectively.
Marketing Director Zoe Allen said: “Our engineers play a vital role in reinforcing frontline healthcare and social care.
“We’re extremely proud of them and all the important work they do to help safeguard patients and staff around the country.”
DDC Dolphin has supplied vital equipment to Cardiff’s NHS Nightingale Hospital for Covid-19
patients.
The company has manufactured a range of equipment for the critical care temporary field hospital at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff. Up to 2,000 patients will be treated there.
The Poole-based company manufactures and supplies sluice room equipment including medical pulp macerators, bedpan washer disinfectors, incontinence product macerators, air purifiers, medical pulp consumables and maceratable/flushable wipes.
This equipment is essential for the safe disposal of human waste in hospitals and care homes –
preventing the spread of infections including superbugs.
DDC Dolphin has so far supplied Cardiff’s NHS Nightingale Hospital with 16 machines – all
manufactured in Poole and installed by DDC Dolphin engineers.
Poole-based DDC Dolphin is the leading manufacturer of medical pulp macerators. It is one of only three companies in the world specialising in the manufacture of these machines.
DDC Dolphin exports sluice room equipment and accessories across the world, protecting patients and clinicians from dangerous infections. Key markets include Europe, India, Singapore and the rest of Asia.
